Celebrating Women(s) day at TRC -Kandakadu

In the society, women play a vital role as a family member. She is the potential to create a family with values as a sister, wife as well as a mother. Around the world, mostly women are less valued and subjected to domestic violence, which leads to discrimination and inequity. With the objective of fulfilling the Social, Community & Family components of rehabilitation through educating our rehabilitees on the importance of women and acquire respect to all women in their families and society, a programme was held at the centre to celebrate Women's Day.

On 8th March 2015 a special awareness programme was held at TRC- Kandakadu for the rehabilitees and the staff. Ms. Nayana Indumathi Child Rights Promoting Officer from Polonnaruwa District conducted a speech focusing on the importance and responsibilities of a woman in the society.
