Contemporary history of the Government Rehabilitation Programme for former LTTE combatants, set another landmark on 15th October 2010 with the reintegration of 500 Rehabilitees those who successfully completed the rehabilitation program.

A pretentious ceremony had been organized at Vavuniya Hindu Cultural Centre by Bureau of the Commissioner General of Rehabilitation on instruction of Brigadier Sudantha Ranasinghe, the Commissioner General of Rehabilitation.

Mr. A. Dissanayake Secretary, Ministry of Rehabilitation and Prison Reforms graced the occasion as the chief guest. Mrs PSM Charles the District Secretary of Vavuniya and Commander SF Wanni Major General Kamal Gunarathne charmed the occasion as the guest of honours. President of FCCISL Mr. Kosala Wickramanayake, Mr Richard Danziger and Mr Clive Jacknic fro IOM and several Government officials and NGOs / INGOs attended the ceremony with a large crowd of relatives of rehabilitees.

200 Males and 300 Females were among those who rejoined their families to start a new life.

During the Reintegration ceremony, rehabilitees casted their pretentious talents and learning they gained during the process of the rehabilitation. Everybody enjoyed the elegant dances performed by male and female beneficiaries those who were trained by the "Abhina" Dancing Academy under the direct guidance of veteran film actress Ms Anoja Weerasinghe.

Fashion show paraded by the rehabilitees were sponsored and trained by the Alliance Development Trust with Ms Dananjani Palliyaguruge .

The rehabilitees who successfully completed vocational training courses conducted by the Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industrial of Srilanka (FCCISL) were awarded with certificates, Trophies and savings accounts.
