Major General Chandana Rajaguru Assumed Duties as the Commissioner General of Rehabilitation

Major General Chandana Rajaguru has been appointed to the post of Commissioner General of Rehabilitation, by His Excellency the President Mahinda Rajapakse, with effect from 15th August 2011. He will be serving in this position whilst holding his substantial position as the Director General, Infantry at the Army Headquarters.

Major General Rajaguru is among the senior most officers of the Sinha Regiment and is an old boy of Kingswood College, Kandy and Ananda College, Colombo. He is holds a Masters Degree in Management Studies from the Osmania University, Hyderabad, India, and has Graduated from the College of Security Studies Asia-Pacific Center for Security Studies in Hawaii USA.

Among the varied and numerous specialized training he has received both here and overseas, foremost are the Long Defence Management Course – College of Defence Management Secunderabad , India and Defence Diplomacy Scholar Cranfied University UK.

He has been injured on a couple of occasions in the battle front and lastly served as the Security Forces Commander, Killinochchi actively spearheading initiatives in a quest for lasting peace and sustainable development.

Under the direction of H. E. the President, the Secretary Defence, and Hon. Minister of Rehabilitation and Prisons,Chandrasiri Gajadeera, Major General Chandana Rajaguru intends dedicating his long standing experience and knowledge to the Bureau’s efforts at Rehabilitation and Reintegrating misguided youth to be useful citizens of the country.
